Biography

Kathy S. Lane is Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, a position to which she was appointed on joining The Gillette Company in March 2002. She has worldwide responsibility for the Information Technology strategies and programs that support the Company's strategic business plans, goals and objectives.

Ms. Lane joined Gillette from General Electric where, most recently, she had been General Manager, eBusiness & IT of the Oil & Gas division, based in Florence, Italy.

She began her career as a systems analyst at Procter & Gamble. Over the next 12 years, she held a number of positions of increasing responsibility in information technology management at P&G.

In 1997, she joined Pepsi Cola International, as Director, Technology Services. A year later, Ms. Lane moved to General Electric. While at GE, she led GE's IT Quality Program and many other key IT initiatives. In 1999, she was appointed CIO of GE Capital's Vendor Financial Business. In 2001, Ms. Lane was named CIO and eBusiness Leader for GE Oil & Gas with responsibility for all IT strategy, planning and operations.

Ms. Lane received her undergraduate degree at State University of New York Albany and received her MBA in Management Information Systems from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
