Management Information Systems: Planning an MIS MQP

You will need to set up the following for and MIS MQP:

  1. Team of students: typically 3-4 MIS majors
  2. MIS advisor: choose among Professors Loiacono, McCoy, Strong, and Volkoff
  3. Company sponsor: who provides a real MIS applications development project and resources, including the project fee ($6,000 to $15,000 plus up to $2,000 to cover expenses)
  4. Project: an MIS applications development project that includes:
    1. interviewing users to develop the project requirements;
    2. requirements analysis;
    3. design of the user interface, data base, information and process flows;
    4. development of the application;
    5. implementation at the user site;
    6. user training and feedback; and
    7. revised application based on user feedback.
